Cathryn is a senior research analyst for the Municipal Fixed Income Team, responsible for conducting fundamental credit analysis and contributing to relative value assessments with portfolio managers and traders. She follows the electric utility, port, and tobacco sectors.
Cathryn started working in the financial services industry in 1996 when she joined the firm. Prior to her current role, she spent six years as a portfolio manager for Nuveen’s state-specific open-end municipal bond funds in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and for several of the firm’s closed-end exchange-traded funds. Before assuming portfolio management responsibilities in 2004, Cathryn was the co-head of the healthcare sector team in the firm’s Municipal Fixed Income Research Department. She joined Nuveen as a senior research analyst covering hospitals, nursing homes, and continuing care retirement facilities.
Cathryn earned a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. from Columbia University.
