Charles is a senior research analyst for the Municipal Fixed Income team, responsible for conducting credit analysis and providing trade recommendations. He specializes in the health care and long-term care sectors with a focus on hospitals, retirement communities, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. He closely follows national and regional health care policy and has authored several white papers for Nuveen Asset Management on topics relating to health care reform.
Charles started working in the financial industry when he joined the firm as a research analyst in 2006. Previously, he held positions as a legal assistant at Tonkon Torp LLP and a research coordinator for the Clinical Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Charles earned a B.A. from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. He is also an active member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
