Tony serves in strategic roles as the co-head of fixed income and the leader of the Fixed-Income Strategy Committee for Nuveen Asset Management.
As the co-head of fixed income, Tony is responsible for the investment process and performance of the entire taxable fixed-income group. His team of portfolio managers, sector specialists, and analysts covers a broad spectrum of the fixed-income market, ranging from government securities to high-yield bonds. Tony believes in an unbiased approach to the fixed-income market and actively adjusts the sector composition, individual bond selection, and overall interest rate strategy for the firm’s portfolios to suit current market conditions.
As a company spokesperson on bond market issues, Tony is featured in local and national media outlets throughout the year. He has been quoted in media such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Reuters.
Tony’s background features more than a quarter-of-a-century of experience in fixed-income investing. Prior to joining the firm in 2002, he was director and head of global corporate bonds at Credit Suisse Asset Management in New York. Previously, he was managing director and head of corporate bonds for Prudential Global Asset Management in Newark, New Jersey. Tony also worked as a portfolio manager for General Electric Investment Corporation in Stamford, Connecticut, and in various financial management capacities for General Electric Company in Fairfield, Connecticut. Tony began working in the financial services industry in 1984.
He received a B.A. in economics from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. in finance from New York University.
